| Staff deployed on Srinagar-Kargil road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May19- Following the reopening of Srinagar-Sonamarg-Kargil road for vehicular traffic from May 2, 2009, all the concerned departments including BEACON, Transport, Police, Traffic, District Administration, CAPD and others will coordinate arrangements for deployment of necessary staff, weigh bridges and equipment to ensure planned movement of vehicular traffic including carriage of material supplies and other essential commodities.
According to a notification issued by Transport Department today, all these departments have been asked to carry out deployment of staff in a phased/scheduled manner to avoid any shortage in Leh and Kargil districts. Necessary modalities will be worked out with Army and BEACON authorities for convoy timings.
