Jammu, Dec 13: JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) in alignment with the Govt. of India’s vision of building a drug-free society organized a one-day training program for Master Volunteers of district Ganderbal under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). The program was held at Conference Hall, DC Office, Ganderbal in collab. with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, and the district administration Ganderbal. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal. DSWO Ganderbal was also present on the occasion and in his speech, he expressed deep concern over the increasing substance use among youth in the UT and encouraged the Master Volunteers to make the most of the training to strengthen their role in community-level prevention efforts. The program began with a welcome address and an introduction to JKSPYM and SLCA by Ms. Pallavi Singh, Program Director, JKSPYM. 50 Master Volunteers participated in the training, which aimed at enhancing their knowledge and building practical skills to effectively contribute to drug demand reduction initiatives in the district. Resource persons from SLCA delivered detailed presentations covering the current drug-use scenario in India, Overview of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Information on Drugs, Drug Use and its consequences, Intervention Spectrum in Drug Treatment and Prevention, and Role of Master Volunteers in NMBA. The sessions were interactive, featuring presentations, group discussions, role plays, and group activities to make learning engaging and practical. The program concluded with the pledge on NMBA and distribution of certificates to all participating Master Volunteers.
