Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Udhampur East, today dedicated PMGSY roads worth nearly Rs 100 crore to the people of Udhampur East, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening rural connectivity and balanced development.
The MLA inaugurated key road projects including the Koalu, Chaka. Rajua road in Garh Samnabanj and roads connecting Kaneter, Beral, Baba Nagain in Chore Panjian. Addressing the gathering, Pathania informed that a large number of PMGSY roads involving an outlay of about Rs 100 crore have already been taken up by the department in Udhampur East, making it one of the constituencies with the highest PMGSY outlay.
He further announced that another major package worth Rs 500 crore under PMGSY Batch-II is in the pipeline. "Udhampur East is steadily moving towards becoming a model constituency in road connectivity, and these projects will ensure long-pending justice to far-flung and neglected areas," he said.
Stressing the importance of quality, Pathania called for strict adherence to standards and time-bound completion of all road works, warning that any compromise on quality would not be tolerated.
Taking serious note of public grievances, the MLA expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in areas like GS Banj, Motu and Chore Panjian, where damaged pipelines have left people without drinking water. He directed the PHE department to ensure immediate operationalisation of JJM schemes and regular presence of field staff.
Pathania also directed the Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry departments to start and strengthen their operations in the area to support local livelihoods. He announced the setting up of transformers at Khabbal and Nagain to address power-related issues.
For education and youth development, the MLA issued funds for a playground and boundary wall at Middle School Chore Panjian. He also announced Volleyball Courts at GHSS Banj & GHS Motu. He further asked the Social Welfare Department to ensure that all centres in the area function properly with timely and quality ration distribution.
Emphasising healthcare, Pathania called for the immediate completion and operationalisation of the Sub-Centre Mottu building, directing that possession of the building be taken at the earliest. He also instructed that duty rosters of doctors and staff of Health Deptt be prominently displayed to ensure accountability and better service delivery.
Reiterating his development vision, the MLA said that infrastructure development, basic services and welfare delivery would continue to receive top priority in Udhampur East, with a focus on inclusivity, quality and timely execution.
The MLA also took part in a mulberry plantation drive in Garh Samna Banj and Chore Panjian areas. He announced that new mobile towers will be set up at Garh Samna Banj, Motu and SK Ber to improve mobile connectivity. He further directed for the immediate release of relief money in favour of families whose houses have been permanently or severely damaged.
