UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: The 4th National Lok Adalat of 2025 was held on December 13, 2025, in District Udhampur under the chairmanship and supervision of Virinder Singh Bhou, Chairman DLSA/ Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur and Sumati Sharma, Secretary DLSA Udhampur. The day began with the inauguration of an Ayushman Bharat stall, showcasing various medicines and healthcare services, by Virinder Singh Bhou, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur/Chairman DLSA Udhampur, and Kamlesh Pandit, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur.
Following the inauguration of the Ayushman Bharat stall, the National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Virinder Singh Bhou, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur/Chairman DLSA Udhampur, and Kamlesh Pandit, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur. The Lok Adalat was aimed at promoting settlement through conciliation and mediation, thereby ensuring speedy justice to litigants and reducing case pendency. A total of 11 benches were constituted across District Udhampur, comprising distinguished judicial officers and panel lawyers. The Lok Adalat witnessed the settlement of 1013 cases out of 1622 taken up, with a total settlement amount of Rs 37272436. The cases taken up included a wide range of disputes, including Civil, Criminal, MACT, Revenue, Matrimonial,Family Disputes, Cheque Bounce cases, etc.
Similarly, National Lok Adalats were also held at TLSC Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani. |
