| Lecture series on life of Kushak Bakulla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH, MAY 19: The first lecture series on Kushak Bukulla was jointly organized by J&K cultural academy and Bakulla foundation, Leh here today. Speakers on the occasion highlighted the contribution made by late Bakulla for over all development of the Ladakh region and describe him as the Greatest Buddhist leader of Ladakh. He also hold important posts in the state and outside and also as Member Parliament for Lok Sabha. Tashi Rabgas a eminent Ladakhi scholar re-called the contribution made by Bakulla in socio political upliftment of Ladakhi people over six decades and termed late Bakulla a great son of the soil. He said, beside this, he also contributed for the development of art, culture and literature in the region. Sonam Wangchuk in his address said Bakulla Rinpochay was a highly respected leader in various countries which include Mangolia, were he served as India’s ambassador and was also a leading Buddhist figure in the world. Togdam Rinpochay, Dr. Nawang Tsering also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Tsering also said that organizing of memorial lecture in the name of Bakulla Rinpochey will be a regular feature of cultural academy’s activities.
