JAMMU, Dec 16: MLA Jammu West and senior BJP leader Arvind Gupta today inaugurated major road upgradation works under the NCAP by way of end-to-end pavement construction at key locations near Rehari, Sarwal Hospital and the Dental College. The project, being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 24.87 lakh, aims to improve road infrastructure while addressing environmental and public convenience concerns. Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that the upgradation of roads with proper pavements is a crucial step towards improving air quality, road safety and overall urban aesthetics. “Under NCAP, our focus is not only on reducing pollution but also on strengthening basic civic infrastructure. End-to-end pavements will help control dust emissions, ensure smooth pedestrian movement and enhance the quality of life for residents,” he said. The MLA emphasized that Jammu West is witnessing continuous development through well-planned projects. He said that special attention is being given to areas around hospitals and educational institutions to ensure convenience for patients, students and the general public. “Infrastructure development near Sarwal Hospital and the Dental College will significantly benefit people who visit these places daily,” Gupta added. The inauguration was attended by Senior BJP leaders Veenu Khanna, Sanjeev Sharma Mandal President Kushant Prajapati, Mandal General Secretary Mohit Vaid, Rekha Sharma, Pardeep Sharma, Mangal Singh, Amrik Chib, Sudesh Sharma, Aarti Khajuria, Madan Pandey, Pardeep, Suresh Gupta, Ashutosh Gupta, Ashok Gandhi, along with other members of the Mandal team and local residents. Locals lauded the initiative and said that such projects reflect the commitment of the leadership towards sustainable and people-centric development. They expressed satisfaction over the start of the works and thanked Arvind Gupta for addressing long-pending demands related to road conditions and pedestrian safety. They hoped that the project would be completed in a time-bound manner and bring lasting relief to the area.
