| Seminar on environment imbalance organized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 20: A seminar on ‘Globe is on the brink of disaster on account of environment imbalance was jointly organized by the directorate of environment and remote sensing and Kotwal National Institute of technology here today. Prof. H.L Misri who presided over the function delivered lectures on various issues related to environment. The students participating in the symposium enumerated the problem related to environment like climate change, green house gases, global warming and discussed about the measures required to create a pollution free environment. As per press release Vivek Pandita bagged first position whereas Prabum Kotwal and Priyanka Koul secured second and third position respectively. R.C Sharma of Environment Soil Conservationist of Director of Ecology highlighted the causes of Ozone depletion, climate change, Global Warming. He suggested remedial measures to overcome the problem and added the main cause for deteriotation of environment is Deforestation supplemented by Vehicles and Industrial pollution. He concluded that by protecting existing forests and raising new plantation, the pollutioni can be controlled and an eco balance can be maintained. The Principal of the Institute Prof. J.K Kotwal called upon the students to protect the forests and environment to regenerate awareness among the masses.
