| Shahnawaz for conflict transformation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 20: State vice president NSUI, J&K and prominent Gujjar activist Shahnawaz Choudhary has been selected to participate and represent the state of J&K at the 7th Annual WISCOMP International Conflict Transformation workshop scheduled to be held in Delhi from May 22 to 26 where apart from taking party in deliberation he shall also be presenting two paper titled “Sufi Tradition of J&K and conflict Transformation” and “Role of women in village Defence Committees in J&K”. Shahnawaz is one among the 40 young leaders drawn from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and India and short listed by WISCOMP to participate in the workshop. WISCOMP (Women in Security, Conflict, Management and Peace) is an initiative of his holiness Dalai Lama and work for the confluence of Gender and Peace-building. This conflict Transformation workshop has been conceptualized as efforts to empower youth leaders in the South Asian region, with the motivation and skills to engage in process of peace building.
