JAMMU, MAY 20: In its continuous drive against illicit distillation and sale, excise sleuths conducted a series of Excise Raids at Villages Sohal, Jadh, Badgal, Kaleath and Thandir Choi of Tehisl Akhnoor today.
During the course of raids two persons were arrested and booked under Article 48 of J&K Excise Act as eight (8) bottles of illicit liquor recovered from them. Besides this, about 500 kgs of lahan was recovered from state land and destroyed on spot.
The raid team comprised of Excise Inspector Akhnoor, Sub-Range, Adarsh Sharma alongwith Excise staff assigned by Eradicator Wing, Jammu under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer, City Excise Range North, A.K Kotwal on the directions of Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Jammu.
