Jammu, Dec 24: To aware the masses on “PREVENTION OF HIV / AIDS” & promote the traditional rich culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) conducted rehearsal cum workshop through Folk performances and presented short play / nukkad natak “HIV VISHANU HAI ” in close collaboration with J&K Aids Control Society , Department of Health and Medical Education, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh.V.K.Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, & Among the Guest of Honors present were Sh.J.K.Raina, Freelancer Producer Director films , Mukesh Singh, Media Person J&K, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government , Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department J&K Government, Mukesh Singh , Media Person Jammu. Speaking on the occasion chief guest highlighted the importance of the day is to raise the public awareness about AIDS, is a pandemic disease caused due to the infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus and would take the oath and urge people to not discriminate people living with HIV and behave with them as a normal human beings and also lauding the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama/skits which are still very powerful medium of communication. The programe was commenced with the songs were “Kailyan Kawan Weh laeyie Saneda ja”, “ Jaan Jaan Mada Aids Rog Jaan ” , “ Roko Roko Aids gi roko ” , “HIV vishanu Hai” , “Savdhan Savdhan Ae Manav Jati Savdhan”, “Jano Jano Aids rog Jano, , “Laga Gran Sade setu da mela ”, “Chota Parivar Sukhi Parivar”. BLSKS will presents four Hiv /Aids awareness programs in Akhnoor Jammu district. during the two days campaign on 26th & 27th December 2025 . The program was also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples. The short play skit “HIV VISHANU HAI ”, written, produced and directed by Dr.M.L.Dogra (Chairman, BLSKS) highlighted the importance of the day the two main aims i.e. First aim is it urged people to know their infection status through testing and access of treatment and care services. second aim is it urged the governments to promote a ‘Health for All’ agenda for HIV and other health services and also highlighted the components to prevention of Aids , Intensifying and Consolidating Prevention services with a focus on HRG and vulnerable populations , Expanding IEC services for general population and high risk groups with a focus on behavior change and demand generation , Comprehensive Care, Support and Treatment , Strengthening institutional capacities ,Strategic Information Management Systems. Sh.J.K.Raina, explained about the Ideally, a health facility should have one Integrated Counseling and Testing centre for all groups of people, The first signs of HIV, also known as acute retroviral syndrome, are flu-like symptoms that appear a few weeks after infection, such as fever, chills, rash, night sweats, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes. However, some people may have no symptoms at all, and these symptoms can also be caused by other illnesses, so they are not a definitive diagnosis. Overall, it's about safe sex, safe injection, and prevention medication to block HIV transmission. The government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and the importance of ensuring that the AIDS control programs align with national and global health strategies. He emphasized the need for a multi-sectoral approach involving healthcare institutions, other NGOs, and community stakeholders to enhance awareness and accessibility of services and targeted interventions for high-risk groups. He urged the department to focus on data-driven strategies, ensuring that resources are optimally utilized to maximize outreach and impact. Welcoming the dignitaries Smt. Usha Raina , Treasure BLSKS also explained aims of the program while you may be all aware of HIV, it's important to reflect on this disease that had such a large impact on past generations and how it's shaping the future. |
