65 budding scientists’ awarded S&T scholarship

JAMMU, MAY 20 - As a part of Science Talent Promotion Scheme of J&K State Council for Science & Technology, 65 meritorious students of Jammu were awarded scholarship in a function organized at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Canal Road.
Principal Secretary, Science & Technology and IT, Dr. Arun Kumar was the chief guest while Scientist ‘G’IIIM, Jammu, Dr. A. K. Suri was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kumar lauded the efforts of the State Science and Technology Council for encouraging students to participate in the talent hunt programme. He said that science involves systematic and organized enquiry into the natural world and its phenomenon which in turn promotes new and innovative ideas by involving young minds.
The J&K State Council for Science and Technology is giving scholarships to the students pursuing science subjects at +10, +12 and PG levels. The students are entitled for the State Science & Technology Council Scholarship after qualifying the science talent promotion screening test conducted by the department.
