Srinagar, May 20- According to a notification, the Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, under provisions of rule 219 (1), 327-A and 327-B of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, has constituted various committees, afresh.
The General Purpose Committee which shall be headed by Chairman J&K Legislative Council will have Deputy Chairman, Arvinder Singh, Abdul Gani Vakil, Ajatshatru Singh, Ajay Sadhotra, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy, Mohammad Yousuf Taing, Javed Ahmad Rana, Murtaza Ahmad Khan and B. R. Kundal as its members.
The committee on Privileges headed by R. S. Chib will have Mohammad Rashid Qureshi, BA Magray, Altaf Ahmad Wani and Showkat Hussain Ganai as its members. The committee on Subordinate Legislation headed by Amrit Malhotra shall include Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy, Nizam-ud-Din Khatana, Ajatshatru Singh, Mohammad Rashid Qureshi, Jahangir Hussain Mir, Aga Syed Ahmad, Ali Mohammad Bhat and Narboo Gialchan as its members.
The BR Kundal led committee on Government Assurances shall have Javed Ahmad Rana, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Jahangir Hussain Mir and Subash Chander Gupta as its members.
The House Committee headed by Chairman of Legislative Council shall have Amrit Malhotra, B. R. Kundal, Ravinder Kumar Sharma and Syed Asgar Ali as its members, while the committee on petitions shall be headed by Vijay Bakaya. Devinder Singh Rana, S. Trilochan Singh Wazir, Ali Mohammad Bhat and Syed Mohammad Rafiq will be its members. The Library Committee shall be headed by the Chairman LC and its members would be R.S. Chib, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Showket Hussain Ganai, Aga Syed Ahmad and Syed Asgar Ali. The Chairman who will be heading the Rules Committee shall have Ajatshatru Singh, Vijay Bakaya, Devinder Singh Rana, Narboo Gialchan, Altaf Ahmad Wani and Subash Chander Gupta as its members.
The Ethics Committee will be headed by S. Trilochan Singh Wazir and its members shall be Ajay Sadhotra, Amrit Malhotra, Syed Mohammad Rafiq, Vijay Bakaya and Bashir Ahmad Magray.
The Committee on Environment shall be headed by Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy and its members will be Showket Hussain Ganai, Nizam-ud-Din Khatana, Ravinder Kumar Sharma, Sheikh Ghulam Qadir Pardesi, Jahangir Hussain Mir and Syed Asgar Ali.
The Deputy Chairman also constituted departmental related committees of Social Welfare, Power, Health, Education, Tourism, Estates and Hospitality and Protocol Departments which will be headed by Abdul Gani Vakil and its members include Javed Ahmad Rana, S. Trilochan Singh Wazir, Ali Mohammad Bhat and Syed Mohammad Rafiq.
The Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture and Works Committee shall be headed by Murtaza Ahmad Khan and its members are M. Y. Taing, Nizam-ud-Din Khatana, Mohammad Amin Bhat and Sheikh Ghulam Qadir Pardesi.
The Forests, Consumer Affairs and Public Distributions, Transport, Industries and Ladakh Affairs Committee shall be headed by Mohammad Rashid Qureshi and its members would be Ravinder Kumar Sharma, Narboo Gialchan, Altaf Ahmad Wani and Aga Syed Ahmad.
