Jammu, Dec 27: In a joint operation, Gharota Police and Forest Officials during routine naka checking on intervening night of 26/27-12-2025, at Amb area one Tata Mobile Registration No.JK02AU-7431 was signaled to stop by the naka team at Amb. However, the driver attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence and managed to escape.
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with Khair wood logs weighing around 30–40 quintals, which were being illegally transported for commercial purposes.
The vehicle, along with the seized Khair wood, has been taken into police custody. A report has been entered at Police Station Gharota, and the confiscated vehicle and seized material have been handed over to the Forest Department for further action under the relevant provisions of the Forest Act.
