| Regularization of Daily Rated Workers | | HC directs Com/Secy, Director RDD to appear along with record | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 20- Coming to the rescue of daily rated workers seeking regularization, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed the Government to appear before the Court along with the record indicating the reason why the petitioners have not been regularized so far. Justice Sunil Hali of J&K High Court Jammu Wing passed this direction in a petition seeking regularization of Daily Wagers appointed in the year 1987. The Court directed Commissioner/Secretary and Director Rural Development Department to appear before the Court along with record to indicate the reason, why the petitioners have not been regularized. The petition filed by Bharat Bhushan and others who came to be appointed as daily wager in the year 1987 and were disengaged in the year 1989, challenged the disengagement order before the Labour Tribunal, the tribunal vide its order dated August 17, 2002 set-aside the order of disengagement of the petitioners and directed that petitioners shall be treated on duty from the date they were disengaged. This order was not complied with by the respondents, the petitioners filed a petition before the High Court and the High Court vide order dated December 12, 2005 allowed the petition and directed the respondents to discharge their liability towards petitioners under the award passed by the Labour Tribunal. Against this order LPA was filed which was also dismissed.
