Early Times Report MAJALTA, Dec 29: Under the directives of the Director, Colleges, Higher Education Department, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College Majalta successfully organised an Intra-House Poetry Recitation Competition as part of the Mentor-Mentee Scheme initiative. Students from all the four houses, namely Mansar House, Sambad House, Shivalik House and Niti House, participated enthusiastically and showcased their poetic talent, creativity and expressive skills. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and creative enlightenment. Principal Dr Shalini Sharma graced the occasion and appreciated the efforts of IQAC in organizing co-curricular activities that contribute to students' holistic development. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chander Mohan, Convener IQAC, highlighted the significance of the Mentor-Mentee Scheme, describing it as a vital academic and emotional support system. He emphasized that the scheme aims to foster close teacher-student bonding, provide academic guidance, nurture creative potential, address personal and career-related concerns, and build confidence among students. Such platforms, he remarked, help mentors identify hidden talents and guide mentees beyond the classroom. The competition witnessed impressive performances, and the First ( Ananya Devi Sem- 1)second(Meenakshi Sharma Sem-1)Third (Shine Bano and Simran sem 1st) positions were secured by deserving students based on content, expression, confidence and overall presentation. The proceedings of the programme were smoothly conducted by Isha, a student of Semester III, Diksha rani a student of semester 1st who demonstrated commendable anchoring skills. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Aamir, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, judges, participants and organizers for making the event a success. The event reaffirmed the institution's commitment to academic excellence, creative expression and effective mentoring through structured initiatives under IQAC. |
