JAMMU, Dec 29: A vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02DH/9819 was intercepted by the police party at Bikram Chowk. During checking, 07 bovines were found being illegally transported in the said vehicle. On noticing the police presence, the accused managed to flee from the spot, abandoning the vehicle.
Accordingly, cognizance of the offence has been taken and investigation initiated. In this regard, FIR No. 282/2025 under sections 223/299 BNS and 11 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused involved in the case. Further investigation is in progress.
