| ADC Jammu Ansuya Jamwal reviews arrangements for Gurpurab | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 29: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ansuya Jamwal today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements put in place by line departments for the Gurpurab festival scheduled to be held on January 5, 2026. The meeting held threadbare discussions regarding arrangements for the Shobha Yatras scheduled on January 3, 2026. The ADC reviewed in detail the traffic management plan including diversions and regulation measures to ensure smooth vehicular movement along the procession routes. Security arrangements were comprehensively reviewed to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations. The meeting also focussed on sanitation-related arrangements. The ADC directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to carry out special sanitation drives in and around Gurudwaras, procession routes and public places and ensure timely lifting of garbage. Instructions were issued for uninterrupted supply and quality management of essential commodities during the festive period. Special emphasis was laid on addressing low-hanging electric wires and cables to ensure public safety. The ADC also stressed overall cleanliness of the city and directed for deployment of duty magistrates during the events to maintain law and order. The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to ensure installation of adequate number of dustbins, availability of potable drinking water, water sprinkling to control dust and deployment of mobile toilets at strategic locations along the Shobha Yatra route and other gathering points. The meeting was attended by officers from Police, Traffic, Jal Shakti, Power Development Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation and other allied departments besides representatives of religious bodies. |
