Jammu, Dec 30: In a significant action against drug trafficking, Police Station Nagrota achieved a major success by arresting two notorious drug peddlers and recovering illicit drugs from their possession during routine patrolling and checking duty.
On 28-12-2025 at about 1845 hours, a police party headed by PSI Nikhal Sharma was deployed for patrolling and checking duty at Ram Nagar Morh, NHW TCP Bye-pass near Crusher Plant, Nagrota.
During checking, an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JK02DH-2877, coming from the Jammu side, was signalled to stop. Upon enquiry, the driver disclosed his identity as Jog Raj S/o Gulzar Singh R/o H. No. 40, Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, and his associate as Ashish Jeet Singh S/o Baljeet Singh R/o H. No. 192, Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Both individuals were found behaving suspiciously.
During their personal search, heroin-like substance weighing approximately 5–6 grams each was recovered from the possession of both accused persons.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 261/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is underway.
