| Excise department records Rs 517 cr revenue | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21– The Excise department, which is the top revenue grocer in the state, has earned a revenue of Rs. 517 crore during the last fiscal while its revenue for April this year has been of the order of Rs. 41 crore revenue which is more than Rs. 2.21 crore as compared to the corresponding period last year.. This was revealed at a high-level meeting convened by Excise Commissioner Pradeep Gupta here today in which all the Deputy Excise Commissioners and Excise and Taxation Officers from various ranges participated. Gupta impressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts for achieving better results in future also. He also exhorted upon them to gear up the enforcement of different laws to check bootlegging and manufacture of illicit liquor. He said that constant vigil needs be maintained to prevent toll evasion, adding that they should work will zeal and dedication to increase the revenue collections of the state.
