| Over 20 cigarette boxes seized for VAT violation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 21- A team of vigilance and inspection wing headed by Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Vigilance and Inspection, Jammu today conducted surprise inspection of Transport yard and seized 20 boxes of cigarettes Flame Brand Filter Cigarette and Rivullete’ Brand Filter Cigarette from yard No. 5 Transport Nagar Jammu.
The Commercial Taxes Vigilance Inspection team seized cigarette boxes under the provision of J&K VAT Act 2005.
Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Vigilance and Inspection, Jammu asked the owner of the shops to report along with valid documentary evidence which could support the goods and secure the release after completion of legal formalities as per the statute within 20 days. After that no further claim shall be entertained and goods shall be disposed off as per the provisions laid in the J&K VAT Act 2005
