KATHUA, Jan 2: In connection with the ongoing National Road Safety Month activities, Team RTO Kathua today organised an Awareness-cum-Medical Check-up Camp for commercial vehicle drivers at Bus Stand Kathua, in coordination with the Health Department Kathua. The camp aimed at promoting road safety awareness and ensuring the physical well-being of drivers, who play a crucial role in safe road transport. During the programme, drivers were sensitised about traffic rules, safe driving practices, use of seat belts, avoidance of over speeding, drunk driving, and the importance of regular health check-ups for accident prevention. The Health Department team conducted medical examinations including blood pressure, sugar level, eyesight check, and general health screening. Drivers were also provided with medical advice and guidance on maintaining good health and fitness while on duty. RTO Kathua emphasized that such initiatives help in reducing road accidents by creating awareness and ensuring that drivers are medically fit to drive. The drivers appreciated the initiative and actively participated in the camp. He informed that similar awareness programmes will continue throughout National Road Safety Month to promote a culture of safe and responsible driving in the district. During the Program, RTO Kathua Surinder Paul Sharma, ARTO Shammi Kumar, MVI Jatinder Chib, MVI Vikas Shrivats, SMVI Neeraj Kumar and other officials of the Department were present. |
