Jammu, Jan 2: The University of Jammu has once again brought pride and honour to the institution as its weightlifters delivered an outstanding performance at the North East Inter-University Weightlifting Championship 2025-26, held at Punjab University, Chandigarh (Punjab). In a remarkable achievement, Pankaj Sharma University of Jammu clinched a Silver Medal in the 94+ kg weight category, showcasing exceptional strength, skill, and determination against strong competition from universities across the region. Adding further glory to the University, two other weightlifters Suhail Abbas (79 kg) and Vasu Sharma (65 kg) delivered commendable performances and successfully qualified for the forthcoming All India Inter-University Weightlifting Championship 2025-26. Their qualification stands as a testament to their hard work, discipline, and consistent training. This historic performance reflects the growing standard of sports excellence at the University of Jammu and highlights the dedicated efforts of the athletes, coaches, and the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
