Congress leaders of the Kashmir Valley on Thursday organized a meeting in which rich tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi on his eighteenth death anniversary.
The prominent among those who attended the meeting includes Senior Congress leader and AICC Member Ghulam Nabi Mir Lasjan, Ex- MLC Ali Mohamad Sofi and MLC Ali Mohamad Bhat besides all district and block presidents of the Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal also took part in the meeting.
Addressing party men on the occasion, Ghulam Nabi Mir Lasjan hailed the contribution of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and called him a real architect of modern India with computers era which has strengthened pillars of the nation in technology era.
It was only the wider outlook of the Rajiv ji that Information Technology was brought in the country which has revolutionized the standard of people, he said and added that Rajivji was a visionary personality whom Nation would remembered forever.
Referring to the sacrifices of two great leaders Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi he said it itself proves the commitment of the Congress in providing its masses the safe and sound environment in every respect. He added that his party was equally committed in providing the protective atmosphere for the people in future as well.
MLC Ali Mohamad Bhat on the occasion while recalling sacrifice of the Late Prime Minister said that people must keep in mind the contribution of Congress party not only at state level but at central level as well and support it.
Ex- MLC Ali Mohamad Sofi also paid rich tributes to the former PM and hailed his policies for welfare of the masses.
Meanwhile, the party leaders also paid tributes to Late Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohamad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone
