Jammu, Jan 4: Under the dynamic leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. N. Tripathi and the inspiring mentorship of the Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Sudhakar Diwedi, two faculty members of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) have achieved a historic milestone, bringing immense pride to the University and the Union Territory. Dr. Sabahat Gazal and Dr. Susheel Sharma, faculty members of SKUAST-Jammu, successfully completed the Pre-Commissioning Course for Senior Division (Air Wing) at Air Force Station Tambaram, Chennai, held from 27 October 2025 to 27 December 2025, and have been commissioned as Flying Officers (Associate NCC Officers, ANOs) in the NCC Air Wing. Demonstrating exceptional academic brilliance, leadership qualities, and overall excellence throughout the rigorous training, Dr. Sabahat Gazal was adjudged “Best in Academics”, while Dr. Susheel Sharma was awarded “Best in Overall Merit” among all officer cadets attending the course. Their outstanding performance has brought laurels to SKUAST-Jammu as well as the 01 J&K Air Squadron NCC, Udhampur. Significantly, they constitute the first senior batch of Associate NCC Officers from Jammu and Kashmir to be commissioned in the NCC (Air Wing), marking a landmark achievement in the region’s Air Wing NCC history. The accomplishment reflects the University’s continued commitment to excellence, leadership development, and nation-building through active participation in the National Cadet Corps. |
