District police arrested 02 thieves, recovers stolen property worth Rs 4 lakhs

Kishtwar, Jan 4: District Police Kishtwar achieved a major breakthrough by swiftly solving a theft case and recovering stolen property worth approximately Rs 4 lakhs within 24 hours, besides arresting two accused persons, at Police Station Chatroo.
SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, while sharing the details, informed that a case FIR No. 01/2026 U/S 303 BNS was registered at Police Station Chatroo regarding the theft of a JCB rock breaker from near an Army Camp, Chatroo.
Acting promptly on the complaint, a police team of Police Station Chatroo, led by SHO PS Chatroo Insp. Vikram Singh under the supervision of DySP PC Dachhan immediately took up the investigation.
During the course of investigation, through technical surveillance, local intelligence, and sustained efforts, the team succeeded in identifying and arresting the accused persons, namely:
1. Muzaffar Hussain S/O Akal Din R/O Padyarna
2. Muneer Hussain S/O Ali Mohd R/O Dool Kuchalna
During interrogation, both the accused confessed their involvement in the crime. On their disclosure, the stolen JCB rock breaker worth approximately Rs 4,00,000/- was successfully recovered.
District Police Kishtwar reiterates its firm commitment towards effective crime prevention, swift action against offenders, and ensuring the safety and security of the general public. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing any information related to unlawful activities in their areas.
