SMAC meeting conducted at district police office Reasi to review security scenario

REASI, Jan 8: In view of the prevailing security scenario and with an objective to strengthen inter-agency coordination and intelligence sharing, a Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centre (SMAC) meeting was convened today at the District Police Office Reasi. The meeting was chaired by Vipan Chandran, Addl. Superintendent of Police Katra.
The meeting witnessed the participation of senior officers from various security and intelligence agencies, including Pardeep Kumar Giri Goswami, CO CRPF 06th Bn. Reasi; Iftkhar Ahmed, JKPS, Addl. SP Reasi; Lt. Col. Manish Thakur, HQ 14 Sector RR Reasi; Lt. Col. A.S. Rana, OC 4 FIC/16 CIB; Ms. Manjima Kuriakose, 2 I/C CRPF 126th Bn. Reasi; Major Awanish, 63 RR Bharakh; Parul Bhardwaj, JKPS, SDPO Mahore; Bhishm Dubey, JKPS, SDPO Katra; Vishal Singh Jamwal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi; Sarbjeet Singh, Dy.SP DAR Reasi; Mahesh Sharma, Dy.SP Bhawan; Smriti Sharma, JKPS, Dy.SP SOG Pouni; Hirdey Jeet Singh, JKPS, Dy.SP SOG Arnas; Azher Ali Shah, JKPS, Dy.SP Mahore-Chassana; Vinay Kumar, DCIO, IB Reasi; Capt. At the outset, ASP Katra welcomed all the officers and outlined the agenda of the meeting. A detailed and threadbare discussion was held on the current security scenario, law and order situation, Republic Day-2026 security arrangements, movement and presence of militants, evolving dynamics of militancy and possible attempts of revival. Emphasis was also laid on surveillance of Over Ground Workers (OGWs), surrendered militants, missing youths, their possible presence in PoK and monitoring radicalization trends among the youth.
A comprehensive brainstorming session followed, wherein officers from various agencies shared their field-based inputs, intelligence assessments and strategic viewpoints pertaining to District Reasi.
