Srinagar, May 22- Chairing the Assurance Committee meeting of the State Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Chairman, has impressed upon he Irrigation and Flood Control Departments to be more accountable to the people and attend the irrigation needs of the people on priority basis.
Tarigami, who chaired the first meeting of the Assurance Committee here today, discussed threadbare the working of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, besides issues relating to various minor and flood control schemes.
The Chairman directed the concerned to speed up the pace on various ongoing works in the state and fulfill the demands of the people as per their aspirations.
Various decisions were taken in the meeting which included taking on spot inspection of various under execution schemes.
The meeting was attended by Mubarak Gul, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, Basharat Bukhari, Bharat Bhushan, Engineer Abdul Rashid and Abdul Gani Malik, all legislators besides, Secretary Legislative Assembly, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Kashmir, Jammu and other senior officers of Legislative Assembly.
