| Dialogue facilition | | Hurriyat says thanks to Farooq | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 22- The All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership is averse to seeking help from Farooq Abdullah in getting Delhi-Hurriyat talks resumed.” We do not need help from Farooq whose aim was to secure greater autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir," said a senior APHC leader, Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat. He said that it was for Delhi to invite "us for talks" and if "we receive the invitation we are ready for discussing various issues including the Kashmir problem with the Central Government." Bhat, who has been placed under house arrest during the last three days, today said that "we want settlement of the Kashmir issue to the satisfaction of India, Pakistan and people of the state," adding that greater autonomy was not the solution to the problem. In reply to a question he said "we have always been in favour of sustained and meaningful dialogue with India, Pakistan and if Delhi invites us for dialogue we may be able to discuss some solutions to the problem." He said "If we are not invited for talks, it is all right. We cannot force Delhi. We have patience to wait and time may not be far off when the central Government will find no other alternative but to resume talks with the APHC leaders". Asked what problem the APHC leadership has if Farooq Abdullah plays the role of facilitator Bhat said "let Farooq resolve the problems confronting the people of the state." He said Farooq is not the person who can act as a facilitator because he does not represent the sentiments of the people of Kashmir. "We represent peoples' sentiment and Delhi needs to talk to us directly,” he said.
