Early Times Report POONCH, Jan 10: Indian Army, under Operation Sadbhavana, conducted successful medical camps in the remote areas of Khanetar, Sindhra and Darhal in Poonch and Rajouri districts. These camps aimed at providing free medical health check-ups, distributing medicines and offering essential healthcare services to underprivileged and backward communities, especially in areas with limited access to medical facilities. The Regimental Medical Officers and nursing staff, along with medical teams from GMC Rajouri, provided consultations and basic diagnostic services. Special attention was given to common ailments like respiratory infections, skin diseases, joint pain, hypertension, diabetes and gastrointestinal disorders. The camps also emphasized health education, including counselling on hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare practices, particularly for women, children and the elderly. The camps not only helped improve the physical well-being of the residents but also reinforced the bond between the Indian Army and the local population. In regions where healthcare is scarce, these medical initiatives have proven vital in bridging the gap between basic healthcare services and underserved communities. The initiative highlighted the humanitarian role of the Indian Army, underscoring its commitment to serving the nation through compassion, service and social responsibility. The presence of the Army personnel created a sense of security and trust, strengthening relationships with the locals and reflecting the Army's continued dedication to community welfare beyond its primary duty of safeguarding the nation's borders. |
