BHADERWAH, Jan 10: District Legal Services Authority in colloboration with Traffic Police Doda organized an awareness programme on "Motor Vehicle Act and Rules keeping in view the road safety month at Seri Bazaar Bhaderwah here today .The program was also attended by Dy SP Traffic Doda Farooq Khateeb , Naib Tehsildar Bhaderwah , DTI Bhaderwah, DLSA staff members, PLVs and drivers. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik Panel Lawyer DLSA Bhaderwah who was the resource person thoroughly highlighted the importance of the Motor Vehicle Act and Rules.He also said that the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, is a landmark legislation that governs the operation and management of motor vehicles in India. With the objective of ensuring road safety, efficient transportation and protection of rights of road users, the Act provides a comprehensive framework for traffic regulations, vehicle standards, licencing and penalties for violations.H e also spoke about the importance of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill-2019 that proposes a huge increase in various penalties for traffic violations, and making vehicles owners criminally liable for violations committee by juvenile drivers. The DLSA Panel Lawyer Adv Mohd Majid Malik and traffic police Dy SP Farooq Khateeb also distributed chocolates at several junctions of Bhaderwah town to the drivers, urging them to fasten seat belts and wear helmet. The police teams also stopped the four-wheeler drivers and bikers, who skipped the mandatory rules, interacted with them and asked them to use helmet and seat belts, explaining the possible dangers associated with it. It's just passing a message to the public to take precautions while driving, Dy SP Traffic Farooq Khateeb said. |
