Samba police foils 3 bovine smuggling attempts, 3 smugglers arrested

Samba, Jan 11: Continuing its sustained drive against bovine smuggling, Samba Police successfully foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts within the jurisdiction of Police Station Purmandal. In these attempts, three bovine smugglers were arrested, six bovines were rescued and three vehicles used for illegal transportation were seized.
A Police team of PS Purmandal while performing patrolling duty, intercepted an Auto load carrier bearing registration No. JK21C-3904 near Pacholi for its checking. During checking, one bovine found inside the vehicle which was tied in a cruel manner and was being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Madan Mohan S/o Suraj Parkash R/o Rajinder Pura Bagoona tehsil Vijaypur district Samba has been arrested and the vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 03/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Purmandal and investigation started.
In another incident, a Police team of Police Station Purmandal during vehicle checking naka duty at Khara Madana, intercepted an auto load carrier bearing registration No. JK21J-0613 for its checking. During checking, 04 bovines were found inside the vehicle, tied in a cruel manner and being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Jatinder Kumar S/o Jagdish Raj R/o Khara tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba has been arrested and the vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 04/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Purmandal and investigation started.
In the third incident, a Police team of Police Station Purmandal while performing vehicle checking duty at T Chowk Purmandal, intercepted an auto load carrier bearing registration No. JK20C-4085 for its checking. During checking, one bovine was found inside the vehicle, tied in a cruel manner and being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Ameen S/o Mohd. Yousaf R/o Telli Basti Bari Brahmana district Samba has been arrested and the vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 05/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Purmandal and investigation started.
