Jasrotia holds public darbar at Kathua
1/14/2026 9:25:53 PM
Early Times Report

Kathua, Jan 14: MLA Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, today held a Public Darbar at the BJP office, Logate Morh, to listen to the grievances and issues raised by people from different panchayats of the constituency. The initiative aimed at ensuring direct public outreach and providing a platform for residents to place their concerns before their elected representative.During the interaction, Rajiv Jasrotia patiently heard issues related to basic amenities, development works, welfare schemes and administrative delays, and assured the people of timely redressal in coordination with the concerned departments. He reiterated that such Public Darbars are essential to strengthen grassroots democracy and ensure responsive governance.
The Public Darbar was attended by BJP District President Kathua Updesh Andotra, District General Secretaries Rajesh Mehta and Gagan Singh, District President SC Morcha Nigesh, along with several prominent representatives and residents from various panchayats of the area. The event concluded with renewed assurance by the MLA to continue such public outreach programmes regularly and to work tirelessly for the overall development and welfare of the Jasrota constituency.
On the occasion, the MLA also addressed misconceptions and misinformation being spread by the Congress and other opposition parties regarding the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025.Jasrotia has strongly countered the negative propaganda being spread by the Congress and other opposition parties against the landmark VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, terming such criticism as politically motivated and disconnected from ground realities. He asserted that the Act represents a historic and transformative step towards ensuring dignified, sustainable, and secure livelihoods for rural households across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rajiv Jasrotia said that unlike previous schemes driven by temporary relief and ad-hoc measures, the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 provides a legally enforceable framework guaranteeing 125 days of employment per rural household annually. This, he emphasized, ensures income stability, social security, and economic confidence for rural families. He said the Act reflects the BJP-led government’s commitment to empowering the poor through structured opportunities rather than hollow promises.
The MLA highlighted that the Act goes far beyond wage employment by focusing on long-term rural asset creation and village-level economic strengthening. Works such as rural roads, irrigation networks, water conservation projects, flood protection measures, and community infrastructure are designed to enhance agricultural productivity, improve connectivity, and stimulate local economies. These durable assets, he said, will create lasting benefits for generations rather than short-lived outcomes.
Rajiv Jasrotia further pointed out that the integration of skill development and self-reliance is a defining feature of the VB-G RAM G Act. The legislation opens avenues for unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled employment, promoting agri-based enterprises, traditional crafts, rural entrepreneurship, women-led Self-Help Groups, and youth-driven initiatives. He said the use of modern technology, planning tools, and structured training will ensure dignified and sustainable livelihoods, particularly for rural youth and women.
Rejecting allegations of opacity, Jasrotia underlined that transparency and accountability are central pillars of the Act. He said provisions such as time-bound wage payments, automatic compensation for delays, social audits, geo-tagging of works, digital monitoring, and strict verification mechanisms will effectively eliminate corruption, fake muster rolls, and leakages. “This is a results-driven law where benefits are ensured to reach genuine beneficiaries without harassment,” he added.
The BJP MLA stressed that Panchayati Raj Institutions and Gram Sabhas have been empowered as the backbone of the Act, ensuring true decentralisation and community participation. He said that local bodies will play a decisive role in planning, execution, and monitoring, making development responsive to local needs and priorities. This approach, he noted, strengthens grassroots democracy and restores people’s faith in governance.
Placing the Act within the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajiv Jasrotia said rural India is the foundation of national progress. He asserted that while opposition parties remain trapped in negativity and name-based politics, the BJP remains focused on delivery, development, and dignity. “The VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 is not just a scheme; it is a commitment to empower rural households, uplift livelihoods, and build a self-reliant and inclusive India,” he concluded.
