Army Day was celebrated with great pride and patriotic fervour to honour the courage, dedication and supreme sacrifices of the Indian Army. The event commenced with the paying of rich tributes to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. During the event, a representative of the Indian Army delivered an informative lecture highlighting the historic significance of Army Day, the evolution of the Indian Army and its vital contributions during times of war, peace and disaster relief. Addressing the gathering, the representative paid noble tributes to the bravehearts and urged the local populace to uphold the values of patriotism, unity and national responsibility. The audience was also briefed on the various avenues available to join the Defence Forces and the initiatives undertaken by the Government in this regard. Teachers were informed that the region possesses tremendous potential in terms of talented and academically bright students; however, due to lack of proper guidance, many are unable to realise their full potential. The children and local residents appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Indian Army for the welfare of the local populace and students. This endeavour to reach out to people residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in strengthening trust between Jawan and Awam. The event also served as a platform to reinforce the bond between the Indian Army and the people of the region, showcasing the Indian Army's unwavering commitment towards service to the nation. |
