Early Times Report MANDI GOBINDGARH, Jan 15: The Department of Physiotherapy, Desh Bhagat University, in collaboration with Pillai Human Society, Patiala, organised a One-Day Orientation Program on the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), aimed at enhancing academic and clinical understanding of modern fascial treatment approaches. The programme featured Thorsten Fischer, Founder & CEO, Center of FDM and Physiotherapy (ETAMED), Hannover, Germany, as the Resource Person, and Dr. Narkeesh Arumugam, Professor and Ex-HOD, Department of Physiotherapy, Punjabi University, Patiala, as the Chief Guest. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Divya Midha, Head, Department of Physiotherapy. Fischer delivered an in-depth theoretical session on FDM, explaining its principles, clinical relevance, and application in managing musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Narkeesh Arumugam inspired participants with his motivational address, sharing valuable academic and clinical insights. All faculty members of the Department of Physiotherapy actively participated and contributed to the successful organization of the event. The programme was graced by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, and other senior university officials. A hands-on practical session provided participants with real-time clinical exposure, followed by a felicitation ceremony and certificate distribution.
