Early Times Report DODA, Jan 16: Ahead of Republic Day-2026, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, today chaired a Security Review-cum-SMAC meeting with all security agencies at the District Police Headquarters, Doda, to review security preparedness and further strengthen inter-agency coordination. The meeting was attended by officers from the Army, CAPF, and other sister agencies, along with Additional SP Doda and all supervisory officers of the district. At the outset, various security inputs received from higher formations were discussed in detail. SSP Doda directed all participating officers to activate their respective intelligence networks and generate actionable inputs to thwart any nefarious designs of Anti-National Elements (ANEs) and Anti-Social Elements (ASEs). Emphasizing round-the-clock alertness, the SSP stressed heightened security measures along the National Highway, strengthening of nakas, establishment of surprise joint nakas at strategic locations, intensified patrolling and surveillance, adequate deployment in sensitive areas, and the conduct of random night nakas and ambushes at vulnerable points. He further instructed all supervisory officers to ensure verification and census of inhabitants and tenants, particularly in and around venues earmarked for Republic Day celebrations across the district. Hotels and other lodgement facilities were also directed to be checked on priority. SSP Doda underscored the importance of effective coordination and synergy among all stakeholders to ensure the smooth, peaceful, and incident-free conduct of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations in the district. |
