| Tax Bar Association delegation calls on Rather | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 23- President Rakesh Kaphi Advocate along with some senior members of tax bar association called upon Minister for Finance A R Rather here today and discussed various issues relating to the implementation of VAT Act 2005 in the state. They also apprised the Minister of the short comings in drafting and implementing of J&K VAT Act 2005 which was adopted by the state of Jammu and Kashmir in haste without taking care of equal justice for VAT dealers and the revenue authorities.
The Minister gave patient hearing to various issues and was in agreement that the Act has been passed in haste without going to its pros and cons. The Minister, however, assured the deputation for proper consideration and solutions of the issues raised during the discussion and the memorandum presented by them.
