| Charges framed against JE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 23- Holding accused Arind Kumar, the then Junior Engineer PWD, R&B Division III Jammu, prima facie guilty of offence u/s 5(I) (d) r/w 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and 161 RPC, the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu BL Bhat today framed corruption charges against the accused who was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Organization Jammu on April 15, 2008. The Special Judge after hearing Chief Prosecuting Officer Purshtom Sharma appearing for the VOJ and Advocate KS Charak appearing for the accused, find that there is ground for presuming that accused is prima-facie guilty of offence u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act 2006 and 161 RPC and framed charges against the accused. According to the Vigilance case that complainant S Balwinder Singh filed a complaint with VOJ on April 15, 2008 alleging that he had executed construction work of Jeevan Nagar Muralia Road, but the accused Arvind Kumar JE kept the sanction estimate pending with him and demanded Rs 25000 as bribe money from clearing the same. On April 15, 2008 the VOJ constituted a trap team which laid a trap in the office of the accused and caught the accused red-handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 25000. The tainted money was recovered from the pocket of the pent of the accused. JNF
