Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 20: On January 20th 2026, Govt. Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu today started a Data Analytics training program for sixty one (61) final-year graduate students of the Computer stream under a prestigious industry-academia initiative supported by IBM in collaboration with ICT Academy. The training program, offered free of cost, is part of IBM's nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at enhancing the employability of graduating youth across India. The 42-hour Data Analytics course is designed to provide a balanced blend of theory and hands-on learning. The program structure includes 16 hours of self-learning through IBM's SkillsBuild platform, 24 hours of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) with project-based learning using open-source tools, and a 2-hour final assessment. Students who successfully complete the training will receive a joint certification from IBM and ICT Academy, adding significant value to their academic and professional credentials. In the inaugural session of this program, Principal Prof. Archana Kaul motivated the students to actively engage with emerging digital skills. Addressing the participants, she emphasized that competencies in data analytics and related technologies are increasingly critical for career readiness and employability in today's competitive job market. The inaugural session was also attended by Prof. Raj Kumar, Prof. Sonam Mehta and Dr. Namita Singh. The training is being conducted by Mr. Sourabh Singh, Data Science trainer, who will guide students through practical applications and real-world problem-solving approaches in data analytics. |
