Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, Jan 20: In a major push toward India's energy future, a high-profile roadshow was held in Chandigarh yesterday to appraise vendors and technocrats of the upcoming Bharat Electricity Summit 2026. The summit, scheduled for March 19-22, 2026, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, is set to be one of the world's largest electricity-focused platforms. Under the theme "Electrifying Growth. Empowering Sustainability. Connecting Globally," the event will host over 25,000 visitors and 500+ exhibitors. The roadshow attracted around 100 representatives from more than 20 prominent power companies and leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), including SJVNL,BBMB, BHEL, HVPNL, and PSPCL.. Tarun Bajaj, Executive Director of POWERGRID (Northern Region-II), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. During his address, he highlighted the summit as a premier opportunity for Indian businesses to showcase their innovations to a global audience. "The Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 is more than an exhibition; it is a catalyst for shaping the future of generation, transmission, and smart consumption," said Sh. Tarun Bajaj. Technical presentations by industry experts from POWERGRID, NTPC, NHPC and REC provided a roadmap of India's power infrastructure expansion, followed by an interactive Q&A session that addressed the interests of prospective exhibitors and technocrats. The initiative of Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 is led by the Ministry of Power and coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC India), with nodal support from POWERGRID and joint support from NTPC, PFC, REC, and NHPC. The summit will feature over 50 conference sessions and 300 speakers, focusing on the entire value chain of the power sector-from storage solutions to global connectivity. |
