While reviewing the status of Smart Meter installation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to expedite the process and ensure completion within the stipulated timelines. He emphasized that Smart Meters must be mandatorily installed and made fully operational without any delay. The Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on the effective implementation and wide promotion of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, aimed at encouraging households to adopt Rooftop Solar systems to reduce electricity bills and ensure a sustainable and reliable power supply. He directed the Engineers and concerned agencies to accelerate the pace of installations to achieve the prescribed targets while strictly adhering to quality standards.
He further instructed officers and vendors to sensitize the public about the long-term economic and environmental benefits of Rooftop Solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and to promptly address field-level challenges.
