| 3 J&K Police constables held for encroaching contract | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 23 : Three constables of Jammu and Kashmir Police were arrested for trying to encroach contract forcibly on a complaint registered at Sidhra Police Station on city outskirts, sources here today said. The arrested people have been identified as head constable Satpal Singh of Rani Talab, Digiana, constables Manjeet Singh of R S Pura and Pawan Singh of Satwari. Police sources said that three police constables including two drivers were arrested last evening from Tootan-Di-Khui area in Bajalata along with a double barrel gun for threatening locals and trying to encroach upon their contract of sand being supplied for construction of residential colonies. Police parties, on receiving complaints from the residents of Tootan-Di-Khui, that the police personnel were encroaching upon their sand contract, allotted to 50 local people, at gun point acted swiftly and arrested them. A case under sections 447, 323 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against them, the police said.
