Early Times Report DODA, Jan 24: District Doda delivered an outstanding performance at the 28th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2025-26, held from 19th to 22nd January 2026 at Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, by securing a total of 27 medals and winning the prestigious Best Sportsman Sprint Award, presented by the Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Mrs. Nuzhat Gul. The taekwondo athletes representing District Doda clinched 26 medals, including 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 7 Bronze, showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and dedication. The team's success was achieved under the guidance and support of Burhan Ud Din Khan (Taekwondo Coach/Referee), along with team coaches Nadeem Zargar and Babar Mujahid. The championship was organised by the J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of the Taekwondo Federation of India and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC). Around 500 players from different districts of UT J&K, including the J&K Police Team, participated in the event. All matches were conducted using the latest Electronic Scoring System (ESS) and Protector & Scoring System (PSS), enabling athletes to gain valuable exposure for national and international competitions. Junaid Ali Khan, President, Taekwondo Association of District Doda, congratulated the entire team and coaching staff for their remarkable achievement and praised their commitment towards bringing laurels to the district. |
