| Peace imperative for tourism promotion: Sagar | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: National Conference senior leader and Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar on Sunday stressed upon need to create peaceful environment for promotion of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. Sagar while addressing election rallies in support of Mustafa Kamaal, Party Candidate for Harzatbal, Sagar said that tourism stands the back bone of Kashmir’s economy. “Thousands of People are linked directly or indirectly with the tourism especially carpet, Shawl and Papermachi traders and as people shall come forward for perpetual peace to promote this sector,” he said. He said that coalition government was on the job to promote the art and crafts of Kashmir in outside countries. Sagar reiterated that Omar led ruling government is taking concrete steps to fight unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir and hoped the Prime Minister Manmohan singh would realize his pledge of turning the Kashmir into a ‘model State.’ The meetings at Dangerpora, Rehmaniya Colony, Soura and Anchar were also addressed by Mustaf Kamaal, brother of Farooq Abdullah and party candidate for the Hazratbal by-polls which will go for polls under rescheduled date on June 03. The Election Commission of India changed the polls dates for the by-polls, necessitated after Farooq Abdullah resignation, for the second time following the annulling of the elections
