Ajaz Jan lays foundation stone for Link Road at Arai

POONCH, Jan 27: In a significant step toward strengthening rural infrastructure, Hon'ble MLA Poonch Haveli, Janab Ajaz Ahmed Jan, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Link Road at Arai under the District Capex (UT) Plan. This road has been a long-pending demand of the local population, and its construction is expected to greatly improve connectivity, ease transportation, and benefit residents of the area, especially during emergencies and harsh weather conditions. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that road connectivity remains one of the top priorities for the development of far-flung and rural areas. He assured the public that all genuine demands aimed at public welfare will continue to receive his full support and attention. On the occasion, Janab Ajaz Ahmed Jan also announced the sanctioning of funds for the construction of ground sheds for Middle Schools in Haveli Panchayat, Malka Panchayat, and Peera Panchayat. An amount of ?8 lakh has been allocated for each school, with a total outlay of ?32 lakh. These sheds will provide much-needed space and protection for students during outdoor activities and school functions. Local residents and panchayat representatives expressed gratitude to the MLA for addressing key developmental needs and fulfilling long-pending demands. They appreciated his continuous efforts toward improving basic infrastructure and educational facilities across the constituency. The MLA reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development and ensuring that no area remains neglected.
Baghussain Rathore, while speaking on the occasion, thanked the MLA for prioritizing remote areas and said the new road will ease daily travel for villagers, students, and patients who earlier faced serious transportation difficulties.
Peer Anyat Bukhari appreciated the announcement of school ground sheds, stating that students in rural schools often suffer due to lack of basic facilities, and this step will greatly support their educational and extracurricular activities.
Abdul Ahad Bhatt termed the projects people-friendly initiatives and said that such developmental works directly reflect the MLA's commitment to fulfilling promises made to the public during difficult times in border areas.
Ishaq Khan said the Arai Link Road was a long-awaited demand and its construction will benefit farmers and laborers by improving access to markets, healthcare centers, and essential public services.
Shazad Khan expressed gratitude for focusing on educational infrastructure, adding that improved school facilities will motivate students and create a better learning environment in rural panchayats.
Aslam Malik said that balanced development across panchayats is the need of the hour and appreciated the MLA for ensuring that no village is ignored in the process of progress.
Abdul Razak highlighted that improved road connectivity will also strengthen emergency response during snowfall and medical crises, which frequently affect far-off villages in the region.
Molana Zaid Sahib welcomed the initiatives and said development combined with attention to education is key to building a stronger and more self-reliant society in rural and border areas.
