| Rouf conferred award | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, MAY 24- District unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Anantnag has felicitated former Chief Minister and Member Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah on his being unanimously elected as President, J & K Bharat Scouts and Guides. In a statement, the Anantnag unit has said that under his superb guidance and management skills, the organization will be further strengthened and its scope diversified in Jammu and Kashmir. “Having been himself a noted scout, Dr Farooq has both vision and practical experience to lead the organization to new highs by giving fresh impetus to its core activities ”, the statement adds. Anantnag unit has also thanked the State Chief Commissioner Mr Nazir Ahmad Khan for conferring ‘Award of Merit’ to District Commissioner Scouts Mr Abdul Rouf Khan. Mr Rouf- a master in GHS Levedora has been awarded in recognition of his exemplary contribution in revitalizing and popularizing scouts’ activities in educational institutions of south Kashmir. His able supervision has been instrumental in training thousands of students in erstwhile Anantnag district.
The State Commissioner has also awarded ‘Long Service Awards’ to Mr Abdul Ahad Shah, Mr M A Ganie, Mr Nawaz Ahmad and Mr Mohmad Amin Darzi for their long and meritorious involvement with the organization.
