Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, today urged the Omar Abdullah-led government to sustain and expand the welfare-driven momentum reflected in its first budget, with a renewed and inclusive focus on the entire Jammu region.
Gupta lauded the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, appreciating the people-centric initiatives introduced to strengthen employment, skill development, education, and social security across Jammu and Kashmir.
He highlighted flagship schemes such as Mission YUVA, Mumkin, Tejaswani, Spurring Entrepreneur, the establishment of the Jammu and Kashmir Skill and Entrepreneurship University (J&K SEU), Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), the Integrated Social Assistance Scheme (ISSS), and the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) as transformative interventions.
He stated that these initiatives have acted as a healing force for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, offering much-needed administrative relief and economic support to youth, women, traders, workers, and the most marginalized sections of society.
According to him, the budgetary focus on employment generation, skill upgradation, and social security reflects a compassionate and forward-looking governance approach.
Gupta further urged the government to build upon this positive trajectory by proactively investing in basic civic amenities, large-scale job creation, enhanced road connectivity, and robust disaster management mechanisms, particularly in the Jammu region. He noted that the region had suffered neglect and unmet commitments during successive PDP-BJP govt and undemocratic regimes resulting in developmental disparities.
Reaffirming the National Conference's commitment to equitable development, Gupta expressed confidence that the present government led by Omar Abdullah would continue to deliver inclusive growth and justice-driven governance, ensuring that the aspirations of the people of Jammu region are addressed with sincerity and urgency.
