Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: Sunny Nanda, General Secretary, Raffa Boules India Federation, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Omar Abdullah at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the Republic Day "At Home" reception. During the interaction, Sunny Nanda discussed the introduction and promotion of new and emerging sports in Jammu & Kashmir, including Bocce Ball, Go Sports, and Speed Ball. He highlighted that these sports are widely played across the world and are gaining popularity due to their low cost, minimal space requirement, team and individual formats, and no age limit. These games also help in developing mental focus and physical coordination, making them ideal for students and the general public. On behalf of the Raffa Boules India Federation, Sunny Nanda requested the LG and Chief Minister to kindly support and promote these sports in Jammu & Kashmir, so that students and youth of the region can get new opportunities at the national and international level. He also explained that Bocce Ball is highly suitable for children with special needs. Sunny Nanda is also serving as Assistant Director, Special Olympics Bharat, and emphasized the importance of inclusive sports for overall development. |
