AKHNOOR, Feb 2: Havildar Pradeep Malik of the Indian Army made history by clinching the Gold Medal in the Para Singles Skull category at the 43rd Senior National Rowing Championship, held at CME Pune from January 27 to 31, 2026. With a time of 11 minutes and 59 seconds, he also set a new national record.
Two years ago, Havildar Malik was paralyzed from the waist down following an accident in Siang Valley. His incredible journey from recovery to standing atop the podium reflects his indomitable will and "Never Say Die" spirit.
