Dr Farooq asks NC MPs, MLAs to raise issues of public concern in Parliament, J&K Assembly

SRINAGAR, Feb 2: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference President Dr.Farooq Abdullah Monday asked all party Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly to vigorously raise issues of pressing public concern in both the Parliament and the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly.
Dr Farooq emphasised that the representatives of J&K National Conference carry a solemn responsibility to be the voice of the people and to highlight their genuine grievances on every appropriate platform.
He said issues related to unemployment, rising prices, inflation, power and water shortages, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and the protection of democratic and constitutional rights must be raised forcefully and consistently.
The NC President stressed that the party's legislators must ensure that the everyday problems faced by the people of Jammu, Kashmir are brought to the attention of the government, and that accountability and transparency in governance are firmly upheld.
Dr Farooq reaffirmed that the National Conference remains committed to safeguarding the interests, dignity and rights of the people and will continue to pursue democratic means to secure justice and equitable development for all sections of society.
He called upon party legislators to remain closely connected with the people at the grassroots level and to reflect their aspirations and concerns in legislative forums with sincerity and resolve.
