| Law Enforcement Wing strengthens oversight of seed, fertilizer, pesticide trade | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Feb 4: In order to ensure strict compliance with regulatory provisions governing seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, a meeting of all dealers and retailers engaged in the trade of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides in Kathua district was convened today at the Sub-Divisional Office, Dayalachak. The meeting was organised under the directions of Director Law Enforcement, J&K UT, Shri S. Balbir Singh, and Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Jammu, Shri S. Kuldeep Singh, and was chaired by Shri Anil Gupta, Law Enforcement Inspector, Kathua. The Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Dayalachak, was also present on the occasion. During the meeting, all stakeholders were categorically instructed to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Seeds Act 1966, Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) 1985, and the Insecticides Act 1968 along with the rules framed thereunder. The dealers and retailers were specifically directed to display the approved price list of all seeds, fertilizers and pesticides being sold. Also directed to issue proper bills/invoices for every sale transaction. Dealers and Retailers are directed to maintain correct stock and sales registers in accordance with the standing instructions issued by the Director, Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, Jammu. It was further emphasized that any deviation from or non-compliance with the above instructions will be treated as a serious violation. In such cases, stringent action shall be initiated against the defaulting dealers/retailers under the relevant provisions of the Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides laws, without any further notice. |
